Window Cleaning in Carrollwood, FL

Carrollwood covers Original Carrollwood around Lake Carroll and the larger Carrollwood Village to its north. It is one of Tampa's first master-planned communities, and six decades on, the trees planted when it was built now form a full canopy over most of it.

What We Run Into in Carrollwood

The homes here

Predominantly 1960s through 1980s ranch and split-level homes, many single-story, with a scattering of newer rebuilds. The original stock often still has its aluminum single-pane windows, and lakefront properties on Lake Carroll have added large rear glass over the years.

Why glass gets dirty in Carrollwood

The mature oak and pine canopy that gives Carrollwood its character is also what keeps the glass dirty. Heavy shade means glass stays damp far longer after rain and overnight dew, and damp glass holds everything that lands on it instead of letting it blow off. Add oak catkins in spring, pine needles and sap year-round, and tannin runoff from leaves sitting in the gutters, and you get organic staining rather than simple dust. Shaded, perpetually damp north elevations here also grow a light algae film that a rinse will not touch. This is the neighborhood where the difference between hosing windows down and actually cleaning them is most obvious.
